Be an Ambassador for your Co+op
Dear Member Owners,
I have three exciting questions for you:
- Are you interested in volunteering your time with the co-op but weren’t sure how?
- Would you like to get more out of your membership by increasing your knowledge about the cooperative business model and what makes MVM a unique asset to Southern New Mexico?
- Do you love MVM and want to help us grow and thrive by sharing that love with the community?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then I would like to congratulate you on passing the MVM Ambassador Eligibility Quiz! Your love for MVM co-op makes you a perfect candidate to become a part of the new MVM Ambassador Program and, on behalf of your fellow member-owners on the Board of Directors, I would like to invite you to take part as on of our inaugural Ambassadors!
By now you may be wondering, “Just what is the Co+op Ambassador Program?”
The Ambassador Program is a volunteer opportunity open exclusively to MVM members, with goal of educating the community about our work, sharing the resources and inspiration that MVM has to offer, and expanding our membership. It is the joint brainchild of board members, staff, and members who are part of the board’s Member Owner Engagement Committee.
Ambassadors will receive training to become conversant in the cooperative business model, what makes MVM Co-op different from other local businesses, and the history and ends of MVM Co-op. Their training will allow them to attend local events, give presentations and workshops, and participate in other community outreach opportunities as official representatives of MVM Co-op.
After a short orientation and training, Ambassadors will have the opportunity to be entered for raffle prizes based on the number of new members they refer to the Co+op!
As co-owners, we have a shared responsibility for the success of MVM. If each of us contributes, then all of us and the greater community benefit from a thriving, democratic business! A year ago I started asking myself how I could become more involved as a member-owner, which is what led me to run for a board position this past spring. I know there are many more folks like me who want to get involved, and becoming an ambassador is a great way to do so.

It’s time to let the secret out: Mountain View Market Co-op rocks, we’re the only co-operative grocer for 100 miles around, we are an anchor to a sustainable economy and food system, and we’re here to stay! Please join me as a fellow ambassador and help spread the word!
